Amazon.com Review As the first Bone trilogy comes to a conclusion, questions are answered, mysteries are revealed, and the stage is set for the brewing conflict in the valley. Jeff Smith is in top form in Bone: Eyes of the Storm. His artful balancing of humor, suspense, and pathos makes for an unforgettable reading experience. The dream sequences in this volume are inspired pieces of comics storytelling, especially the six-page "Moby Bone" sequence: the pacing, illustration, symbolism, and panel layout are close to perfect. A special addition to this collection is a set of more than 40 pages that have been retouched from the already near-perfect original comics. There are also 5 never-before-seen story pages and 9 new illustrations.
Product Description
In "Eyes of the Storm," volume three of the nine-book BONE saga, Lucius, Smiley, and Phoney survive an attack by the rat creatures and return safely to Lucius' tavern in Barrelhaven. Phoney, desperate to win a bet with Lucius, stokes the townspeople's fear of dragons and boasts that he is a professional dragonslayer. Back at the farm, Fone Bone and Thorn are troubled by strange dreams, and Gran'ma Ben's reaction to them is stranger still: She reveals long-kept secrets and warns of great danger. Thorn, Fone Bone, and Gran'ma Ben may have to leave the farm forever.

He hasn't put it down yet. January 2, 2010 Betsi J. Lamoure Good books were requested on his Christmas list. These definitely were. They arrived on schedule and were under the tree in plenty of time for Christmas.
Important issue April 26, 2009 Yevgen Ostroukhov (Kyiv, Ukraine) I haven't yet read the next volumes. This one seems to be the one when author decided he is not writing a finny book for children but that he has so much of the story.
This book is a turning point and as such there's no much action. There are explanations many. I really liked to read read it and it won't get five stars only since I gave them to vol. 1 that I liked more.
Don't let your child read this series!!!!! April 21, 2009 DadOfThree (Illinois, USA) 0 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was completely shocked and horrified that this book is marketed to young children by Scholastic. My eight year old son received Bone as a gift. I could not believe that the content contains characters smoking. This is NOT a book that should be given to a child for that reason alone! After doing some research I read that Scholastic at first did not want to include the inappropriate content. They decided to leave it in the book when the author refused to edit it. As a parent I do not think any child should be reading a book that "glamorizes" smoking. I am also disgusted that Scholastic, which is a name parents trust, would allow this series to be marketed to young children.
An Interesting Book February 18, 2009 Bone Volume 3 is SO good! Jeff Smith is the author and he's an awesome artist for Bone. One of the main events is Bone's and Thorn's dreams. They're really strange and weird. The main characters are Bone, Thorn, Gran'ma Ben, Kingdok and Lord of the Locusts. The settings of the story are the Barrelhaven Tavern, Gran'ma Ben's farm and most importantly, The Valley. It's a really good book. I also recommend the Dragonslayer, Book 4.
