Product Description
A long-dormant volcano explodes, blacking out the sun, mowing down trees, and filling the land with soot and ash. The Lord of the Locusts has been released. Against this apocalyptic backdrop, the Bone cousins along with Thorn and Gran'ma Ben struggle to reach safe haven in the city of Atheia.

Meanwhile, Lucius Downs lies severely wounded and trapped with the villagers in the camp at Old Man's Cave.

5 out of 5 stars Great series to share with a 6 year old   September 6, 2010
L. Landry (Oakland, CA)
My son and I have been reading the Bone Series. He's too young to read himself just yet (he reads a little but this is a little advanced). I purchased Book 7 through Amazon because I was making another order. I must admit we were buying the others are a local bookstore. Sharing the series as been a special thing between the two of us. e love the characters and take time to look at the beautiful illustrations. We are now on Book 9 and sorry for it to end. I plan to seek out his prequel as well as a new series of campire tales from the Bone guys. My son is now trying to read the books on his own so its helping encourage his reading as well.

5 out of 5 stars So much fun to read!!   October 23, 2009

5 out of 5 stars Great just plain fun   March 21, 2009

I haven't enjoyed comics so much in over 60 years. The whole Bone series is a great fun read. Actually, I didn't, but someone thinking of starting this series might find that reading the prequel first, Rose, can add to your understanding of the Bone Series 1-9. Rose was drawn by Vess instead of Smith, but Vess is top notch as well. I thought I was through with "comics" 50 years ago, then Smith drops "Bone" on me and my second childhood has commenced. Highly recomended.

My grandaughter LOVES the Bone series. I have purchased all volumes for her. She is not a fan of reading, but she reads these.
