Product Description
It's full-fledged war as Briar, the rat creatures, and the Pawan army storm the city of Atheia. The Bone cousins, Thorn, and Gran'ma Ben are all there to defend the Valley and stop the return of the Lord of the Locusts. When Thorn goes inside a ghost circle, she hears a voice urging her to seek the Crown of Horns. What follows is another dangerous journey for Thorn and loyal Fone Bone as they race to the sacred grounds of the dragons, searching for the one thing that may save them all. This is the breathtaking conclusion to Jeff Smith's nine-book graphic novel series.

Both my Boys Loved this Book July 28, 2010 AJ Both my boys (11 and 9) sat down and read this in one day.
Pros:
Keeps their attention
They loved it and read it from front to back in a few hours.
More in the series
Cons:
Lots of pictures (con for the parents)
Lots of slang words, not bad words but just makeup slang that does not really help the kids learn.
Your kids will want the other books in the series
A great conclusion to the series May 28, 2010 Dream's Raven (USA) When I finished this volume, I was sorry to have read all of the bone comics. The characters are so endearing, the plot so engaging and the artwork so beautiful in its simplicity I couldn't help but love it. If you've read the previous volumes of Bone and enjoyed them, you won't be disappointed by this great conclusion.
My favorite book April 16, 2010 Mrs. Duarte's Class (Colorado) Bone is my favorite series after Diary of a Wimpy Kid. My favorite book out of the Bone series would probably be Crown of Horns. Phone Bone and his cousins get into so much trouble when they are together. Even though Bone and Thorn get hurt and into so many fights. Thorn when she's trying to save her world, she gets bitten. Also grandma, she back in power, she is helping a city fight, she is like a general. She is brave and faces her sister which is the leader of the Rat Creatures. Even though she knows her sisters weakness, Grandma Ben could probably kill her sister, but I don't know why she doesn't do that. Her sister was ripped in half during a war but the locus keep her alive. Grandma Ben was so surprised, and to me that is a big surprise too. Thorn has to go into the dragon cave and touch the Crown of Horns, to save the city's that have ghost circles. She is bitten by Kingdok and can't get closer to touch the Crown of Horns, so Bone goes and touches it but Thorn took the locus out of him. Before he touches it a herd of Rat Creatures come rushing in about to kill Bone and Thorn. Seriously though why didn't anyone follow her, she was going into a dangerous place and still only Phone Bone came with her. She was bitten, but I think that really even stop here Kingdok was died but he was just to big and strong to get her leg lose. So she got the nerve up and just gave Bone the piece of locus, but before Bone tried to touch it and nothing happens. Then Thorn says i am to scared to give it to you. Bone sacrifices his life for others, Bone touches it and the ghost circles disappear. Thorn gets her leg out of Kindoks mouth and runs out but she trips and cant walk or run. But before they met a baby rat creature and they trained not to kill. So out of nowhere he comes running, and Bone put Thorn Bartblys (the rat creature) and the get out. They go back to the city and the war is over Grandma Bens sister is dies now. The city is such a mess, but they fix it. I would say that they had an adventure or like a journey, there journey or adventure was amazing to me. I wish i could tell you more but if you read the series you'll get it and you will find out what happens next.
A true masterpiece of comedic fantasy. March 2, 2010 Shaun Kennedy It could be slightly unfair to call the Bone series "Comedic Fantasy" since it hardly makes light of it's own subject matter, yet the apparent humor is anything but consequential. I initially became aware of this series during a brief run of part of the first chapter in Disney Adventures comics, and later on acquired the One Volume Edition that has the entire story in one large paperback (Greatly recommend). When I heard that Scholastic was going to rerelease the series in full color I quickly hopped on-board and bought them as they came out. After book six however I could no longer find them in stores, fortunately Amazon has it all.
As the finale to the series I have to say that it's just as wonderful and expertly written and drawn with such masterful stroke as the rest of the series. Though by now there's not much left in the story to leave room for the more comical moments, and the epic climax is on par with that of most high fantasy I've read. The book, being the final chapter, wraps up all the plotlines in a rather epic way, connecting threads between previously unrelated characters. Yet while the story is nicely wrapped up at the end, you still are left wanting to know more about the fate of the characters as they finally come full circle.
I must also add praise to Jeff Smith, that while his story is accessible to people of all ages, he doesn't make compromises on his content, some of which can be violent or risque, yet it's a charming book that I wouldn't hesitate in the least from letting my children read and enjoy. Highly recommend!
the final chapter May 17, 2009 K. Bosia (California) the final book in the bone series so it's a must have. we received the book on time and in good shape.
